How Did You Begin Your Journey In Music?

Vinny Michaels began his music career playing in the church at 16 years old, as a youth worship leader! From there, local band SKEETER CREEK gave him his first opportunity to play in public as a country singer at the Amsterdam Bowling Alley! That’s when my country music journey began. Opening weekly for Skeeter Creek around the Capital Region (of Upstate New York).

What Artist Influenced You To Sing and Write?

My biggest influence writing music came from Jamey Johnson.  His song, ‘In Color’, inspired me to want to start writing my own music!

Who Has Been Your Favorite Artist To Work With… So Far?

I’ve opened for many Nashville stars, including Luke Combs, Old Dominion, Big and Rich and many more! But, my favorite artist I’ve ever opened for is Trace Adkins. I like how he tells stories through his songs, and how his songs impact the crowd! It’s inspiring!

What Is Your ‘Dream’ Performance Venue?

My dream venue, at this point, would 100 percent be the MVP arena (Albany, New York)! That place is legendary!  I’ve never played an arena style gig, so it would be a bucket list dream come true opportunity, for sure.

What Is One Of Your Songs You Hope To Hear On The Radio One Day?

I would love to hear my voice played on the radio one day. That’s something that still hasn’t happened, and I really hope I can turn the radio on and listen to one of my songs through my car radio! That would be amazing!

Who, In Your Personal Life, Has Been A Supporter Of Your Career?

My inspiration to start playing music goes to both of my uncles, Tim And Steve Cornell! They played in a band that had great success in their time called Split 2nd Alibi! When I was a kid, my uncles would pick me up and bring me to their band practice. They would let me play some of the instruments and just watch them write music and play! From that point on, I had my mind set that I wanted to be a musician!
