At least four departments were on the scene
Fire crews from Cohoes, Green Island and the Watervliet Arsenal were called to a Structure Fire at SJ Pizza on Ontario Street in Cohoes. It happened just after 11pm. When firefighters arrived, they found heavy smoke coming from the building.
Cohoes fire chief Joseph Fahd told NewsChannel 13 they were able to get it under control shortly after arriving:
The guys made a quick stop on it.
Nobody was injured, but the building suffered extensive damage.

Working Structure Fire 93 Ontario Street City of Cohoes Cohoes, NY The City of Cohoes’s Fire Department with Green Island Fire Department, City of Watervliet’s Fire Department and Watervliet Arsenal Fire Department responded to 89 Ontario St. for a reported structure fire. On arrival firefighters had heavy smoke showing from the structure interview, firefighters deployed a inch and three-quarter hand line and began to knock down the fire on the first floor. After an extended period of time firefighters noticed the smoke condition kept getting worse and made their way down to the basement which was extremely tight. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire quickly incident under control. The building suffered severe damage and no injuries were reported.
