Schools Cancelling After School Activities due to Winter Weather

Schools are coming in with cancellations and postponements as winter weather approaches

As wintry weather makes its way into the region, schools are starting to announce changes to their Friday, January 31st schedules.

Cambridge Central Schools has announced that all after-school and evening activities are cancelled for this evening, Friday, January 31st due to the inclement weather.  This includes Cambridge's Boys Basketball away game, which was supposed to be played over in Hoosick Falls tonight.

The postponed games will be played on Saturday, starting at 5PM for JV and 6:30pm for Varsity.  The girls are not scheduled to play on Friday.

In addition, there will be no 9th Period session and no late bus service either.   BOCES students will be provided a late bus.

Spa Catholic announces their JV and Varsity Boys Basketball games against Greenwich have been postponed, to be played on Saturday.  The JV will tip off at Noon, Varsity to follow at approximately 1:30pm.

And Glens Falls is noting that Freshmen, JV and Varsity Boys Basketball home games against Amsterdam have been postponed.  As of now, the Adirondack United Girls Hockey game and the Boys Hockey games will be played as scheduled.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for much of the area as freezing rain and snow is expected this afternoon.  Also be sure to check out our school closings presented by Adirondack Trust Company for more closures and early dismissals this afternoon.
